Sunset from North Berwick

Wind on the nose this morning, better angle this afternoon so in no rush to head off. Crossed into England yesterday - running out of milestones to tick off. Bit sad about that!

South of Fraserburgh

During the earlier stages of the expedition this is a question my (ever concerned) mum asked me (on a number of occasions).

Calm conditions at Helmsdale, north side of Moray Firth

I feel like I am well south already (that is, until look at the map, at which point a sense of vertigo sets in). The weather - blue skies, sun and warmth - feels distinctively southern.

Once again, the weather charts are showing the Northwest corner of Scotland swathed in pink, as that corner gets another battering from another Atlantic low.

High tide and low tide is different across the world, but the world shares springs and neaps

I thought I knew about the tide. There’s either lots of beach cos it’s low tide, or no beach cos it’s high tide.
